Trump and Epstein do not appear to have known each other in 1983. They reportedly met sometime in the late 1980s.

It will be interesting to see the number of viewers for this SOTU, especially since you can get the clips and analysis later without having to sit through it. It might also be interesting to see how many people stop watching it as it drags on.
