And if he had make mask wearing patriotic, he’d be President for another 4 years. Just proves how hopelessly messed up he is.

All this, when the fact is that if everyone would just stay home for 6 weeks, the whole thing would be over.

Well, they’ve only gotten the first dose, so, still pretty foolhardy.

My daughter is a nurse at Children’s National Hospital in DC. She is exhausted and I worry about her every minute of every day. She just returned from a long stint in Idaho where they had a nursing shortage. She gets tomorrow off and then is back on a 4-day shift, sleeping in a call room each night. We need to stop doing this to the healthcare workers. I am grateful to the Bidens for always thanking them, that means a lot, but fucking America needs to give them a break.

Not yet, because that would imply completion. Every time you think you’ve idiot-proofed something, they go and invent a better idiot.

The reported numbers of COVID deaths seems to be a little off. Very slow to catch up to the Thanksgiving reporting delay, now with Xmas & NYD it is going to look like it is not rising, but hospitalizations keep chugging up and up.

Daughter came for visit from out of state, after isolating for two weeks, except for volunteer grocery shopping for elderly lady in her neighborhood. Delaying visiting my mother for a bit.

NEW YORK — The number of passengers screened for flights in the U.S. topped nearly 1.2 million Wednesday for the first time since the coronavirus pandemic outbreak, but it’s still about 38.5% below the same Wednesday last year, by far the smallest percentage decline since March.
… … …
A merry Christmas super spreader event.

This.

If you go to such places as the Covid Tracking Site you see that US vaccination tracking is still at the aspirational stage.

Among other things, we should know how many people have been fully vaccinated (usually 2 doses), the kinds of vaccine administered, e.g. mRNA or adenovirus, and other pertinent information as the virus is a moving target.

The Spanish Flu killed 675,000 Americans, according to the CDC. This holiday foolishness could amplify things until we approach that level of fatality. Dreadful.

To be fair, it’s not like there’s been any significant advances in medicine over the past 100 years or so…

If only Trump had had the time to take a few pre-med courses. He could have sorted out this Covid 19 on his own. Did you know his uncle was a famous physicist? Genius runs in the family.

I understand your worry. She’s sacrificing herself to help other people, while other people don’t pay the slightest heed to simple rules. Keeping my fingers crossed that she avoids COVID.

Your daughter is a wonderful person for working this hard for so many people who don’t really get it.

I will send all good thoughts her way. I hope she stays well and safe.

That’s a Mom and Dad joke. :grinning: I will say the general population is over COVID. They are hell bent on accepting the consequences.

Please don’t sell us short. :relieved:
