OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Oklahoma State running back Chuba Hubbard and coach Mike Gundy appear to have ironed out their differences for now.
Milke Gundy has been very open about his wingnuttery for a long, long time. College football coaches are almost all garbage people.
How can people really know each other’s hearts and worth until the pyramid scheme of capitalism is “defunded”? There has to be another of living without being enslaved by the scarcity-fear model.
Oh, FFS, just barf.
Wanna bet a certain somebody in dark glasses and a fake-mustache turns up at a certain rally in Tulsa on Saturday? The sunglasses and mustache are the “change” we’re talking about.
Why the fuck have they not fired him? Oh, Oklahoma, right.
Why would someone waste the energy and money to order an OAN t-shirt in the first place?
Oh, again, Oklahoma, right.
Kudos to the former players backing Hubbard up. If not for that - the conversation may not have occurred.
It’s a start.
In light of today’s Tweet, with the T-shirt I was wearing, I met with some players and realized it’s a very sensitive issue with what’s going on in today’s society,” he said.
He just now realized it. But he also still wears a mullet, so he doesn’t pick up on trends quickly.
Hubbard apologized for using social media to air his concern instead of going directly to Gundy.
“I’ll start off by first saying I went about it the wrong way by Tweeting,” Hubbard said. “I’m not somebody that has to Tweet something to make change. I should have went to him as a man. I’m more about action. So that was bad on my part. But from now on, we’re going to focus more on bringing change, and that’s the most important thing.”
But…would anything constructive have happened if Hubbard didn’t make his feelings and objections so public?
Militia man shoots a protester in NM and TPM writes about some coach wearing an OAN shirt in OK? Come on, TPM. We can comment on the shirt story but not the shooting?
Not a sports fan here.
I doubt seriously if football at Oklahoma State generates more revenue than it costs. The speed with which the administration spoke up on this tells you, though, that it can read a balance sheet and, with attendance this fall very likely to be below normal, they need all the revenue football can generate.
To all black big-school football players,
The vast majority of you will never play in the NFL. While at uni, you will play football under an arrangement that takes advantage of your skills for profit and entertainment.
The graduation rate for your white teammates is roughly 28 points higher than for you.
You have a lot more to get angry about than your coach’s t-shirt.
This is not new. Racism in FB. And they’ve got other problems:
(1) who’s watching the games?
(2) how?
(3) when?
“I was flipping through stations,” he said. “I found one — I don’t even know if anyone knows about this. It’s called OAN. It’s called One America News. And it was so refreshing. They just report the news. There’s no commentary, there’s no opinions on this. There’s no left, there’s no right. They just reported the news.”
His praise for OAN followed several minutes explaining how he felt the “mainstream media” had been too negative in its coverage of what he called the “Chinese virus.”
So, the coach is a liar AND a complete idiot.
All but two of the schools in the conference are public, and this article analyzed their finances. Bottom line, Oklahoma State football is profitable.

Why the hell are you TPM referring to OAN as "a far-right news channel” it’s not a news channel. It’s a far right conspiracy/propaganda channel affiliated with Russia that has publicaly stated they are ‘pro Trump’.
That’s not news. Those are not things a ‘news org’ would be affiliated with or say. Stop giving them any legitimacy by referring to them as a news channel, that’s what they want. Legitimacy even in criticism.
TPM will catch up with it eventually. But in the meantime …
…photographed wearing an advertisement stamped gimme tee shirt. Or as they say in Stillwater, Okie formal.
You said it better than I could.
