Their operating principle seems to be: If you can’t do it incompetently, don’t do it at all. Which makes sense given they’re are trying to reflect the best quality of their candidate.

Yes, that’s part of it.
The other part is that this sort of thing is the only tiny sliver of campaigning that Parscale understands.
I continued to be floored by the praise that keeps getting heaped upon this dunce. But once we hit the General election this summer, he is going to flame out in spectacular fashion. I don’t think he realizes it yet (because he isn’t that bright) but he is there simply to be the fall guy for when Trump starts raging at polls showing him losing.

Because the purpose is to undermine people’s belief in reality generally, to make them question everything, believe nothing can be trusted and thus they’re free to tune it all out and just listen to the Leader.
