Only One Kentucky GOPer Joins Biden On Tour Of Tornado Devastation

A lot of things happened. Here are some of the things.

Even though Biden invited the entire Kentucky congressional caucus to join him on his visit to their state yesterday to survey the damage caused by the deadly tornadoes over the weekend, according to the White House, the only Republican who took him up on his invite was Rep. James Comer (R-KY).

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) threw cold water on the idea of prohibiting members of Congress and their spouses from trading stocks while in office yesterday because “we are a free-market economy,” therefore lawmakers “should be able to participate in that.”

Of course she did. You wouldn’t want the congress to be a representation of the people they represent. It is the rare congress member that does not leave office way wealthier than when they entered.

On Sunday Chile will have its second round of voting. If you haven’t kept up with what has been going on there, this is a good article. The race is close; the ultra right wing, Bolsanaro/Trump type candidate is getting support from Bannon via Bolsanaro’s son. Much of this will sound familiar. There are children of former Nazi’s involved. Amazing.

“We can’t be seen with Biden. Donnie will get angry.”

Such is the backbone of even Kentucky Republicans.

I commented yesterday about the look MTG had on her face as Jordon yelled about the texts being released.

The video was much better.

That includes McConnell and Rand Paul who have a chronic case of chicken-shititis when it comes to choosing disaster relief for their constituents from the United States over fear of fat donnie.

Congress members aren’t just feathering their own nests. They are giving a heads up to their donors as well. Pelosi knows this. She also knows she would lose the speakership if she goes after insider stock trading.

Without the filibuster America gets a better democracy. So lets stop addressing Sinema’s bullshit in terms of the filibuster. She’s not bear hugging the filibuster she’s kicking a better America in the teeth.

such then is beauty

surrendered

against all hope

you are here again

turning slowly

nature as chameleon

all life change

and changing again

awakening hearts

steady moving from

unnamed loss

into fierce deep grief

that can bear all burdens

even the long passage

into a shadowy dark

where no light enters

night moves

through the thick dark

a heavy silence outside

near the front window

a black bear

stamps down plants

pushing back brush

fleeing manmade

confinement

roaming unfettered

confident

any place can become home

strutting down

a steep hill

as though freedom

is all

in the now

no past

no present

earth works

thick brown mud

clinging pulling

a body down

heard wounded earth cry

bequeath to me

the hoe the hope

ancestral rights

to turn the ground over

to shovel and sift

until history

rewritten resurrected

returns to its rightful owners

a past to claim

yet another stone lifted to

throw against the enemy

making way for new endings

random seeds

spreading over the hillside

wild roses

come by fierce wind and hard rain

unleashed furies

here in this touched wood

a dirge a lamentation

for earth to live again

earth that is all at once a grave

a resting place a bed of new beginnings

avalanche of splendor

Sure, Bill. And Trump would have stopped the Parkland School murders if only he’d been there.
