If you expected something different, you should be examining yourself. I’m liking a lot of the recent rhetoric about Ds taking Rs seriously. Let’s see the actions.

The Republican power elite has never failed to not do the right thing these past 4 years.
They have no incentive to do otherwise now.

I believe 17 Repubs would have to do the right thing. Let’s see if Collins gives an ‘eyebrow’ in the end. I doubt if all five will convict.

True it is a political thing, not a trial. That got me thinking though, isn’t it illegal to have a hand in the insurrection? Maybe they shouldn’t be impeaching him, but refer this to the FBI for federal crimes.

"Donald Trump holds the GOP hostage for the next 4 years. "

Donald Trump has no future regardless of the Senate trial outcome, so I guess they’re going to follow him down the drain. There’s no other cult leader so I don’t understand what these people have to gain by sticking with a twice impeached Loser who has nothing left.

45 Senators (pun!) demonstrate they have little to no understanding of the US Constitution.

In some ways it would have been better if they did kill it. 17 aren’t going to vote to convict and a trial isn’t going to change minds. Hoping the NY AG gets some results.

Repeating what I posted on another thread.,

Donald Trump engaged in seditious behavior while POTUS and a majority of the Senate GOP says meh. It is now Trump over country. The GOP is no longer a party.

Actually, that was my unpopular comment on another thread; what ever it takes to convict is the right decision.

The Republicans aren’t whipping votes for this, either way.

That’s what Schumer said in the Maddow interview last night (twice).
Wish media or someone could clear this question.

45 Republicans voted to approve a resolution stating that the impeachment trial is ‘unconstitutional’, yet 33 Republicans voted to approve the rules for said ‘unconstitutional’ trial. Makes no sense. They’re just a bunch of cowards running scared of a mob boss.
