The petition to recall California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) initially only gained traction after supporters of the movement seized on right-wing outrage over the governor’s COVID-19 mitigation measures.
“Thought I was immune as I’ve had it before,” Heatlie, who is unvaccinated, told the Times in a text message. “Then spent 13 hours in a warm truck traveling back from Wyoming with a friend who came down with it on the trip.”

Heatlie added that his wife, who is vaccinated, got infected with the coronavirus because of him.
I’d call it Kharmic Justice, but Kharma is like gravity - what goes up, must come down. The scorn and derision these anti-vaxxers have rained down on science-following health providers and innoculated people is coming back to them like the ground rushing to meet a skydiver without a parachute. The virus offers no scorn - just disease and death. Only the (mentally) fit will survive.
This kinda undermines their entire gripe against Newsome, doesn’t it? Gov. Newsome was looking out for his State’s best interests. People like Heatie said “You’re a Dem. FU!” They organized a recall, and then came down with what their sworn enemy was trying to protect them from. So the recall they organized was because of what? Yes, karma is a bitch, but some people are just too stupid for karma to care.
