President-elect Joe Biden will be sworn into office one day from now, amid a backdrop of tension and unrest, not just in the nation’s capital, but across the country.
After the Damn Fool’s grand final (we hope) display of treason ranking on the same level as the Kennedy assassination and 9/11 the Inauguration of the return of sanity to the WH is most welcome and reassuring. The contrast between a lack of any virtue whatsoever and the Biden Administration is what makes tomorrow unprecedented.
The pardon list will dominate the headlines for the day. There are bound to be a few outrageous ones, but I hope the media will shift away from that by this evening. As far as actual damage to the country beyond that, I don’t think there’s anything else he can do at this point. His enablers are leaving the building.
It’ll just be a matter of how much of this is reversed within the first week of the new administration. It’ll also be a matter of what impact the pending impeachment and trial have on the list of pardons, too. I suspect something will occur, just can’t tell you what…
I expect that he’ll try something – just to prove that he’s not a diminished specimen of a human being, but he’s more diminished than he even realizes at this point.
Besides a hundred ridiculous pardons, I expect that he’ll spend the rest of today raging about how Lady Gaga and Tom Hanks don’t love him.
Biden had better not be walking too close to McConnell when they go to that church service together. What’s the safe distance for a lighting bolt strike?
ETA: Hah! @cub_calloway got there a few seconds faster.
