Rep. Don Young (R-AK), a 24-term congressman who recently won re-election and is the oldest member of Congress at 87, announced Thursday that he tested positive for COVID-19.
This is great news! Couldn’t happen to a more loathsome bastard.

I have been wondering for some time now if Trump is actually trying to kill off his party.

The virus is exploding across the nation…the increases in the past 10 days are huge, and it’s only going to get worse and the increase is now exponential. And, it’s going crazy in the part of the nation that doesn’t think taking safety measures is worth it, since it’s a hoax. Put it all together, and it’s a recipe for a lot of people to die…there are going to eb bodies piling up at a rapid rate, and not all due to COVID as the medical systems collapse under the pressure.
It didn’t have to be this way, but the Republican party decided to play politics with a pandemic. They didn’t get punished for doing so in this election, we’ll see if it gets so bad that they do get punished in the next one.
I do not agree with anything Don Young says or stands for. That being said I wanted him eaten by a grizzly not dying of COVID.
Ya know what? These assholes are endangering the entire city of Washington, DC which has done a bang up job keeping the infection rate down. DC residents follow the rules and don’t deserve this. Like I have said many times before, the rest of the country sends their favorite assholes to DC, we don’t grow them here. Now they are poisoning the region. My daughter is a nurse and is so weary it breaks my heart. I was exchanging emails with a VA infectious disease doc today and this is what he wrote back. I find it eloquent and sobering: “Thus far, the Trump-Pence catastrophe disguised as their public health efforts looks way too aimlessly Darwinian to be a sensible national approach, unless you have a taste for nihilism, mayhem, and willful death.” Say goodbye to your loved ones, Rep. Young, and I hope you didn’t infect them.

Since these are all “friends” of President Trump, are they all getting the same treatments he got that, nearly miraculously, had him out of the hospital in 4 days?
I’m beginning to seriously question whether Trump had COVID or just was exhausted from the campaign and needed a few days rest? Let’s say you have COVID and you can completely recover and show the virus who’s the “boss”…Great optics!

Even in the bluest of cities they are suggesting ridiculous protocols - like limiting indoor gatherings to 10 people. Can you imagine at the height of the AIDS crisis they were saying only have unsafe sex with or share needles with 10 other people?
My city has a mask “mandate” that has never been enforced. Even the cops on construction detail are maskless around the work crews, who are almost entirely maskless.
Its easy to paint this as a red/blue state thing, but I have very little confidence in some of even our blue leadership.
Some 5,488 new cases in Pennsylvania listed today. Nearly three times as bad as the worst day in the spring. And every day I see people sitting in restaurants, but I don’t see masks. All you can do is shake your head. The reports are that the current president of the United States has basically given up even pretending to do his job.
Yeah I thought he’d died of rabies some years back.
If we can’t have grizzly do the job we will have to settle for a simple virus.
