The Oklahoma state legislature approved a bill this week that would make it difficult for the state to join the Electronic Registration Information Center (ERIC), a voter roll maintenance program it’s not even enrolled in. It’s been sent to Gov. Kevin Stitt’s (R) desk to be signed.
Frankly, good, they can spend all the time and money they want on stuff like this. It’s no big deal and helps keep people on the voter rolls, one less tool for the gop to abuse to disenfranchise voters.
If anyone knows an effective way to combat this nonsense, please advise. I just watched an election security presentation and someone pointed out that the recent advances in AI will make it even harder for people to trust official sources of accurate voting information.
“If citizens don’t have confidence in the election system, our Republic loses,” he said. “The goal here is to improve transparency, data privacy and voter integrity in our elections.”
Thia is such bullcrap, and everyone knows it. There already is transparency, data privcy and voter integrity. What republicans didn’t like is that some people were caught voting in two different states. Those people just happened to be republicans. Any dems that we know of?
This gives republicans more ways to cheat, which, as we all know, is the only chance they have to win.
They’re lying about this, and because these states are controlled by republican cheaters, they’re getting away with it.
his goal is to “improve transparency, data privacy and voter integrity in our elections.”
So, straight from his mouth, meaning it’s reverse-speak.
The real goal being to increase voter fraud so they can claim an illegitimate election… that and their tacit admission that more people voting favors Democrats in this day and age.
Yep. Another GOP controlled state that doesn’t want anyone finding out how many white nationalist police in their state vote in other states too. Supposedly they’re interested in preventing anyone from finding out how much the GOP is supported by double-dipping voters who are in so-called law enforcement.
