Ohio Republican Leaders Gently Beg Trump To Please Not Visit Springfield

Well, you are a sane person, and you are not a partisan.

De Whine is (mostly) sane, but he has a huge blind spot about his duties whenever partisanship is a factor. Note the headline: “…Leaders Gently Beg Trump…” (emphasis added).

The sane thing to do would be to politely and publicly tell TCF that:

  1. The situation in Springfield is really bad right now.
  2. Now is not a good time to visit.
  3. The State of Ohio will not commit further police forces to the area if Trump should choose to visit anyway.

Privately, a sane person would contact TCF and tell him, “You’re not welcome. Stay away. Am I clear on this?”

But DeWhine has a huge blind spot named “Partisanship”, so his response will be limited to, “Now’s not a good time.”

Well, thanks, of course don’t take too much of an investment in my sanity, but: I think declaring a State of Emergency might be more to the point if Trump visits, and suspending the rights of anyone but Trump’s security detail and immediate entourage from visiting – no goon mobs from out of town, no “Groypers,” no “Proud” Boys, no freelance trigger-fingers; only Springfield residents and deliveries to businesses allowed in.

If that is lawful.

The ability to express myself in complete sentences (and even complete words) has eroded thanks to e-mail, emojis and social media.

Why even be subtle. Just say it is your fault that we have the Proud Bois and other goons threatening us with bombs. Your lies caused this.
You…either one of you…come here we will arrest you for inciting violence.
Speaking of which, is there nothing that those Proud Bois can be arrested for?
I hope that someone is investigating the source(s) of the bomb threats and that some arrests for those will be coming soon.

So the fascist voters have just gone underground, but will still vote for the two who have very clearly shown their true selves to be lying bastards and supporters of violence for the sake of their political careers? This is the definition of insanity.

Interpret it as you will. I think the appearance of Republicans for Harris signs in R-heavy areas is a good sign, myself. But if you’re a glass-half-empty person, you do you.

The US and our various governments have not minded our own damn business in the past and recognized dictators in Central and South America as long as they seemed to be somewhat of our own (current at the time) philosophy.
Dictatorships are always bad. They gut the idea of a government that is interested in working with the people governed, and engender resistant groups that can become cancers that will plague a country for generations.
Now it has become a cesspool of violence where rival gangs are fighting to assume the role of Dictator, and we bear some responsibility for that.
Having said that, we cannot absorb all of the populations of Central and South America. The best thing we can do is stay out of their business and let them sort themselves out. Right now, we are in danger of becoming one of those Dictatorial States that will destroy any chance of regaining democracy short of a complete bloodbath that would make our Civil War look like a tea party.
Our Immigration laws have been in need of rewriting for at least 60 years. The days of mass immigration from our East have been long over. The people who want to come here are from our south, and our laws fail to recognize that. If the Republicans could get over their racism and work with the Democrats to pass sensible, realistic laws that recognize today’s reality, we could impose some order on our Southern Border. As it is, those people have no choice but to enter any way they can and this is just not sustainable.

I’ve read DeWine has strong connections to Haiti and a school there is named after his deceased daughter.

1st District NC is definitely red as are most in NC other than a few blue pools that have been gerrymandered to include rural red areas so as to dilute and negate blue voters.

He does. And he’s apparently not the least bit pleased about this, but he’s unwilling to say what’s on his mind.

A policy not unique to us.

He knows what those two are capable of.

As I’ve said of DeWhine previously, he’s a profile in cowardice.
