Mr. Obvious, the use of the term “colored people” is a dead giveaway about the hobgoblins in your mind. I used to hear the same crap from my bigoted uncles (and their kids) about the hand-washing stuff, and even at that age (I was under 10 years old), that made absolutely no sense at all. At family reunions, I would stay far away when they gathered at some picnic table and loudly proclaimed their bigotry and cruelty. That was in the 1950s.
Yes he seems to be a real doctor, one bitten by the bug that causes the wingnut disease. Many Doctors have been bitten by it, and on of the symptoms is them telling the most stupid lies about medicine & health care. Other famous cases include Ben Carson, Bill Frist (TN) & Tom Coburn (OK).
State legislators, man. Some are as sophisticated as anyone you’ll meet. And some are just regular-Joe yahoos who decided, after creating a three-location dry-cleaning empire, that they were pretty sharp guys who should now start telling the rest of the state what to do. They’re a reflection of the society, the good and bad. How a damn doctor can stay this much of a yahoo is a bit more surprising but we sure do see 'em.
When I was a youngster our family moved from Phoenix to Carrollton, a small town in NE Ohio, to care for my dad’s uncle, who had suffered a stroke. We lived there for a year, and left when he died. During that year I learned that Carrollton was a “sun down” location. Blacks knew, were they in that town, to spend the night in the local jail in order to avoid being blamed for anything that might happen. 12 years old, I was astonished at the backwardness. Still am. Was ever so glad to leave. Dad spit out the car window as we crossed the State line into Indiana on our way back home to Arizona. That was in the 1950’s; I’m not surprised that there is racism in Ohio. My concern now is the racism here in Arizona. We have a long way to go.
Overwhelmingly here in my city in Texas, it is People of Color that are the ones actually wearing masks. I and a few elderly seem to be the only white folks giving any heed to the mask recommendations. He’s “a doctor?” Like poodle-on-his-head Rand Paul is a doctor? Does this guy even have experience with Black patients?

I said it yesterday, and I repeat: It really hits home, how deeply, deeply ingrained these attitudes are that people express them so casually, and with no realization that the world is – at least in this moment – not their racist safe space. Makes ya think.
