Self-serving…the funny thing about politicians is that they believe that they are the first people who ever spoke the language of the trade.
Truly a humble man; something at least half of the assholes he saved that day are most definitely not.
Goodman is a good man.
He lives up to his name.
We need some more Goodmans to protect and enhance our democracy.
Was just about to type ‘Dammit, stop living up to your name for one freakin’ minute and let us be grateful!’ ![]()
I think the man is owed a whole lot more than a medal. His quick thinking saved the lives of who knows how many senators and quite possibly saved democracy. The debt owed to that man can never be repaid, but we should still try. I hope his money is no good wherever he goes.
I think he’s owed what he is comfortable accepting. My point was not that his accolades should stop at the medal, but that he is rightly pointing out that the over-the-top nonsense (like a statute) is more about the politicians proposing it than it is about him or his noble actions. I’d certainly be buying him a drink if I saw him at the bar hehe
bingo
Amen.
More for tearing them down than putting them up?
Good man, Goodman.
Kind of appalling to hear that Fanone has been treated that way out in the real world. No doubt the people throwing drinks in his face were shocked and scandalized by the “mobs” following Sinema into the bathroom.
