Of Course Trump Made Georgia Rally All About Himself | Talking Points Memo

VALDOSTA, Georgia (AP) — President Donald Trump pressed his own grievances over losing the presidential election at a rally Saturday in Georgia, spreading baseless allegations of misconduct in last month’s vote, even as he pushed supporters to cast ballots for a pair of Republican Senate candidates in the state’s Jan. 5 runoff election that will decide the balance of power in Washington once President-elect Joe Biden takes office next month.

Shocking I say…just shocking.

In one month, trump becomes much less relevant. Once those GA senate races are over, no one will have reason to kiss his ass (no one includes Rudy and the other fully committed co-conspirators).

From the WaPo coverage of the rally:

Sharon Tanner, a school bus driver, had traveled with her family from Moultrie, Ga., to attend the rally. When asked who was going to be inaugurated Jan. 20, Tanner said she thought it would be Trump, not Biden.

“God’s going to open their mouths and let the truth come out,” she said.

Tanner, 53, said she didn’t know enough about Trump’s dispute with Raffensperger to comment, but she maintained that there had been enough fraud to overturn the election — and that she was planning to vote for Loeffler and Perdue on Jan. 5.

“I feel like we need to vote more now. [Trump] still needs us to do our part no matter what. I’m telling all my folks to come out and vote,” she said. “I believe he’s God’s anointed, that God chose him to fix our country.”

Has she considered that maybe God chose Trump to punish our country?

“I won Georgia.”

He Really Says: The Republican officials and volunteers in Georgia who ran the elections are bad people.

Any Republican lame duck President who actually cared about the party’s future, would be making the argument that the two R Senators from Georgia need to be elected as a brake on the incoming Biden administration. But of course Trump can’t do that without admitting he lost the election.

I’m just grinning ear to ear, imagining what McConnell must be thinking about all this. The Frankenstein monster has escaped the castle, and there’s nothing he can do about it.

Trump did no favours to his side tonight. By continuing to spout his grievances and false claims he keeps the rubes agitated. But events confirming he has lost will continue to unfold in the days ahead.

The biggest demoralizing event will occur when Pelosi announces that all EVs have been cast and that the margin is indeed 306-232 and the House will certify. The rubes will start to lose their minds over Christmas and their anger will turn against the Republican Party for failing to stand by their president.

They will lose some GA voters, but will it be enough?

I’m not sure what impact Trump might have on the GA Senate race. Right now it’s the only thing McConnell cares about. I’m sure the RNC is polling GA heavily to determine what effect Trump might have.
If McConnell believes Trump will help he likely told Trump to get his ass down there or Monday morning I start referring to Biden as President Elect Biden.
McConnell won’t need Trump possibly ever again after this.

I suggest they write in Trumps name. Its well known they can write Trumps name 2 times this go round and that will flip GA 16 electoral votes to him. Huzzah! God commands it.

What nonsense! The conversation with Georgia’s governor was another perfect call! I’m sure we’ll be shown a transcript as soon as they edit out all the weeping and begging and bribery offers.

To prove their loyalty to President Skanky, the anointed One, Georgia Republicans should write in His name with a Sharpie or a 9H pencil, instead of voting for Loeffler or Perdue. Or if they really want to poke Brian Kemp and the Republican Party in the eye, they should vote for Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff.

Well my dear Sharon, 81 plus million votes just overruled your God. Which makes Democrats more powerful than your deity.

So perhaps you might want to rethink your faith in a loser and an impotent object of worship. I’ll let you decide which of those labels apply to Trump and which applies to your God.

Now kneel to us you unworthy heretic!

Sharon sounds as if she should celebrate Festivus everyday. The airing of the grievances, ad nauseum. Tired. Old. Sad!
Time for a new chapter.

And Trump would laugh in his face because McConnell no more controls what the Republican Party base thinks than I do. If he started referring to Biden as President Elect then Trump would just claim he’s in on it too, and the base will believe him. And every senator that followed after him would just become part of the deep state. We’re talking about people who believe that Democrats eat babies and that Trump won CA and NY. He controls them and McConnell full well knows it.
