President Obama on Tuesday is scheduled to visit Newport News Shipbuilding in Newport News, Va. Obama will “discuss the impacts on the defense industry and the Virginia economy if Congressional Republicans fail to compromise to avert the sequester,” a White House official said. Reps. Bobby Scott (D-VA) and Scott Rigell (R-VA), along with Secretary of the Navy Ray Maubs, will also attend the event.
