President Obama condemned the mass shooting at a rally for Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-AZ) today that resulted in Giffords being shot among others. In a statement released by the White House, Obama called the shooting “an unspeakable tragedy” and said that “such a senseless and terrible act of violence has no place in a free society.”
