NYT: WH Staffers Privately Think Trump’s Visits Were A ‘Debacle’

President Donald Trump bragged on Twitter about how successful his visits to El Paso, Texas and Dayton, Ohio on Wednesday were, but apparently his own aides thought the whole situation was a mess.

“They wanted him to go in and behave differently,” she continued. “The goal was for him to go in and get out while making as little news as possible.”

Hoping for that mythical “pivot to acting Presidential” perhaps?

Let me know if Godot ever shows up.

“No, they don’t,” Haberman replied. “Most people, while they would, I suspect, not say it publicly, will privately admit that yesterday was something of a debacle, that these were not the headlines they wanted to see… They wanted him to go in and behave differently,” she continued. “The goal was for him to go in and get out while making as little news as possible.”

“We thought he might turn over a new leaf and be a totally different person for the first time in his 70-odd years on this earth and also that he might sprout wings and turn purple and a variety of other totally impossible things”

fuck’s sake

He looked like the grinning Cheshire cat from Alice in Wonderland especially in the Dayton pics.

How truly unexpected. Yet the MSM is still convinced that the “pivot” is coming any time now.

In situations like these, the President is supposed to exhibit empathy for the victims, their families, the injured, the community and the nation. Instead, Trump made it about him, as usual. That would make him unPresidential and totally lacking in empathy. He is a disgrace.

Then again, why would any prudent and rational person think that the WH staff would have been happy over the fiasco.?

They would have had to have beeen as delusional as Trump as opposed to mere sycophants. Nothing of note here, just gossip.

Have they ever met the president? “Please please please please don’t stand next to shooting victim and give a huge grin and thumbs up like he just won a country club golf tournament…Shit! Too late!”

“Does the White House think this visit went well, Maggie?” CNN host John Berman asked New York Times reporter Maggie Haberman on Thursday.

I knew it! Maggie is a White House aide.

OK, guys, this is simply unbelievable. Everyone on planet Earth know that the pivot isn’t coming. Whatever the regime is dealing with now will just get worse from here on
out. God Almighty, the regime made a video from yesterday’s nightmare and Scavino made point of tweeting that Rump was treated like a rock star. After a massacre.

You know, once is because you didn’t know. Several hundred times? It’s either because you’re a fucking moron who can’t learn from your mistakes…or you just hate turkeys.

I’m kind of done with the NYT, enabling our criminal president to continue to suck the air out of everything. In the end, none of these antics will be more than tiny footnotes to the bigger story of lawlessness and institutional dismantling.

The bar is so low that he could have just done the frowning and exaggerated nodding thing and we would rightly have called it a PR victory.

Just look sad. That’s all! That’s all you have to do!

spoilers: he couldn’t do it

“Rock star” plus “debacle” equals … Altamont?

Like everything else he does isn’t? They should know by now.

Pretty sure he set a record for first President to visit two sites of tragedy on one day and be hit with protests in both, and not even make a public appearance for fear of being publicly humiliated.
