NYPD Officer Suspended For Using ‘Apparent Chokehold’

NEW YORK — A New York City police officer was suspended without pay Sunday after he was recorded putting his arm around a man’s neck in what the police commissioner called an “apparent chokehold.”

He was reportedly booked on suspicion of disorderly conduct, obstructing governmental administration and resisting arrest.

An officer tapped his fellow officer and pulled on his shirt to stop him and bring him back under self control.
