I think he got the car because he is MINORITY leader of the state senate.
If his party was at a public venue they are going to have state alcohol bureau over them; if it was at a private home, hey, THEY just won the ‘served drinks to a drunken person’ lottery.

Ever notice how Republicans instantly bring up Chapaquiddick - but no politician since then has ever gotten behind the wheel of a vehicle when impaired?
I love pizza, if I could confine my dinner to a slice, all would be well. I don’t really struggle with weight fortunately, but if left to my own devices, I could eat a whole large pizza by myself.

I have a slice for lunch once in a great while if I’ve been good and kept myself in reasonable condition. That hasn’t been true lately.
