The New York Republican Party late Monday night decried President Donald Trump’s potential plans to pardon former state Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver (D), who is currently serving a prison sentence for corruption.

My assumption would be that this is a transactional move, aimed at heading off future NY state legal entanglement for Trump.

Someone last night claimed Laurence Tribe said that some of the pardons can remained sealed. They would remain so until the party was indicted for a crime??? Seems bizarre if true.
