New York attorney general Letitia James issued subpoenas to two of former President Trump’s children, Ivanka Trump and Donald Trump Jr., as part of a civil investigation into the former president’s business practices, according to court documents filed in New York Monday.
This is like Macbeth, but the characters are toothless piranhas, a careful fury, an aging succubus and a crazy boy king.
Hopefully this is the year that all of the legal wrangling over the Trump family lawlessness is finally sorted out. It’s clear that there should be at least some prosecutions, and investigations seem far enough along to make at least some of them come to a conclusion this year. Even if the cases don’t end up in indictments, they need to wrap some of them up so we can get some closure.
It’s possible that Trump and Republicans will try to use this to win in 2022 and 2024, and they may succeed in doing that, but justice really must be done.

I am presuming here (hopefully, correctly) that these subpoenas are rooted in some significant irrefutable evidence - what we’ve been waiting for from NY for quite a long time now.
The subpoenas will be ignored, but the outcome will be interesting to see if, in addition to the crimes already known in the supporting evidence, perjury can be added to the list of crimes.
While the Trump offspring share the same surname as Trump, they are still–essentially–minions.
They will not have the POTUS mojo that TFG had/has/will have.
They are also adjacent to still more–and lesser–minions.
