Not sure how he could be defamed for being involved in Trump’s “perfect” Ukraine policy. If he is actually a Trumper he should be shouting “yes, it was me, we did a perfect job”. His lawsuit smacks of disloyalty to Donald. I do hope no one mentions it to him.

This White House is utter bedlam, dysfunctional to an inconceivable degree: a mid-level staffer not only bullshits the POTUS but gets away with it for months and appears to have suffered no repercussions even when ‘caught out’, only when impeachment proceedings of the POTUS are in full swing is he exposed followed by the gall to sue.
We would know none of this if Democrats had not retaken the House in 2018.

My guess is that the lawyer for both Nunes and Patel did not take their cases on a contingency basis but rather on a flat fee retainer—paid in full up front. I can’t imagine that there are any damages to be found in injuries to the reputations of Nunes and Patel. You can’t get something from nothing, after all. Or two nothings, as appears to be the case here.
