Depends where the sharpie line has been drawn on some map trump made up. I figure at least north to Tennessee and west to lousyanna while claiming the east coast up to the mason dixon line.

Prevention of epidemics requires knowledge and planning so that threats like coronavirus don’t get a foothold. Once it gets established, it becomes much more difficult to control, as China is finding out. Also, the more widespread it becomes, the more likely is that it will mutate into something even worse than it is now, i.e., a strain with a higher mortality rate.

Hardly surprising. We all know full well that we have a DOJ that’s focused on protecting Trump and punishing his enemies. And now we’ll have an NSC that’s focused on telling Trump only what he wants to hear.

Seattle area Infection Control Specialist daughter is livid over the really stupid coronavirus guidelines and CDC leadership. Head of CDC is avirologist who’s a rightwing, anti gay christian. He has no experience in public health or epidemiology. One person on the coronavirus task force knows what he’s talking about and constantly contradicts the director leading to massive confusion. So far we’ve been lucky, considering the gross incompetence of leadership.

Could we send a few infected staff members into the WH? Initially the victims don’t feel sick, but are infectious anyway. A few well placed people could wipe out the pests occupying the WH.

I did read that CDC’s response to states has been abysmal. The man diagnosed with coronavirus was discharged from Providence Hosp. in Everett. The hospital, Snohomish County Health Dept. and WA state were on top of it. There was a lengthy Seattle Times piece on it. Everyone he came into contact with is being closely monitored. That our local officials nipped what may have been a disaster is a credit to them.

And did you see that Trump is now at odds with Boris Johnson because the Brits are not going along with Trump as he locks out Huawei? Johnson has canceled his trip to America twice now, and there are no plans to come at all. Well, O.K.! That’s just our biggest ally, so whatever.

Agreed and the “failed state” being the United States. I said this years ago and I’l repeat it now: one of the primary goals for feral trumpers is to dismantle the United States as we’ve know it and replace that “body” with a collection of separate States who live and die by some Darwinian fate. They don’t believe now and never have believed that there should be any centralized governmental body that’s actually competent. If you don’t live in a place that can help itself, that’s tough. For you. They don’t believe in “national security” except in the way that they can take credit if a terrorist plan is actually thwarted. Short of that, they could care less. Grift is paramount; anything else just takes a back set.
