NRA Was Ready To Buy Wayne LaPierre’s Post-Parkland Safe Space, Check Shows | Talking Points Memo

A newly revealed check written by the National Rifle Association appears to upend its account of plans to buy a $6 million Texas safe space for its chief, Wayne LaPierre.

I’m picturing LaPierre telling his board “For the last time, do NOT buy me a mansion!” while smiling and nodding, giving the thumbs-up and mouthing the words “buy it”.

If he was afraid, why didn’t he buy himself an AR?

That is why the NRA keeps telling us why people need them. To protect themselves.

I gather that the government is holding a man-sized safe that may no longer be purposed.
LaPierre, doubtless, coulda got it as surplus, assuming Bolton didn’t have dibs.

Wayne can either hide in a gated McMansion, or he can simply quit espousing the shit that causes people to want to do him harm.

Seems me the responsible thing is to simply quit espousing the shit. Or buy the mansion with his own money. I pay my mortgage, not my company. And unlike Wayne, I own the company!

Blame the dead guy, of course.

Might also want to check into the circumstances of death, I presume.

“The only thing that can stop a bad guy with a gun control is a gated community with a golf course!”

the NRA contended that the idea to give LaPierre refuge from the angry masses in a multi-million-dollar mansion came from Angus McQueen, an Ackerman executive who died last month.

Odds are a lot of odd things are going to be attributed to that guy.

“Blaming the recently deceased Angus McQueen, a man who lived his life honorably and honestly, for decisions made by Wayne LaPierre is not the most surprising thing the NRA would try in these troubled times but it is one of the most shameful,” the statement reads.

“One of the most shameful” things the NRA has done … oh my, but that is a long, long list.

Make sure you’ve restocked the paper tray before hitting “print”.

LaPierre’s bespoke cowardice at work. A big rough, tough, gun-totin’ he-man - in expensive suits, making a fat salary, and insisting his corporation buy him a mansion to play cowboy in.

Now THAT’s a bumper sticker.

Wayne LaPierre. On the road to Epstein like habitat. Gee…I wonder why. Always afraid that someone might see what he does in his home? Yup. Nothing to see here.

I hope AG James looks into the ethics of a non-profit paying its senior exec multi-millions on top of a blank check expense account through Ackerman.

The angry masses seem to be inside the NRA.

Watching them destroy themselves is about the most fun I have had in

It’s interesting to watch them aim their BS statements at each other instead of the usual “libtard gun grabbers!!!” targets that they usually use. It’s going to be more interesting when the charges for violating non-profit regulations start coming out…watching the NRA immolate itself will be quite satisfying.

To be fair, in any organization that I have worked, the last guy to quit or get fired is the one that carry the blame of everything for months… Once a boss asked us if some major screwup could possibly be blamed on a guy that had been forced out months before that even started, that way he would not have to look for a scapegoat among us (higher management was demanding blood).

True, I quit a job some years back and had dinner with some of my old coworkers a few months after I quit. They were telling how they had fallen behind on an important state filing and I was used as the scapegoat. I had never worked on this filing in the past but that did not stop them. We all had a good laugh.
