The world – and New York attorney general Tish James – now have a refined sense of National Rifle Association executive vice president Wayne LaPierre’s taste in home decor.
Inflation over time has really affected the value of 30 pieces of silver. May the anguished screams of the NRA’s many innocent victims destroy his sleep for the rest of his sorry life.
I always wonder about houses like this, with bathrooms big enough to throw a party in, with fine upholstered seating. Who’s lounging around their bathroom? Who’s sitting, soaking wet, on upholstered furniture? Why???
Some years ago a woman friend of mine told me that the reason why they have chairs and sitting areas in woman’s rest rooms is because they need a place to sit for make up or during that time of the month.
In luxury homes it probably just fits into the style or vibe. The whole McMansion upsizing thing “Honey we really need a great room!” that was partially responsible for the 2007-08 real estate crash.
I hope rank and file NRA members see this. Maybe now they’ll realize it’s not about them and their relatively minor contributions. It’s actually all about the gun manufacturers who are paying the way, and thus are the true cause the NRA is fighting for.
And my friends don’t understand why I resist paying for an NRA membership to shoot at local gun clubs. It’s clear that more of your NRA dues go to the fluffing up the lifestyle of the organization’s leadership than it does protecting gun rights.
It would have been NRA dues and Russian money well-spent. An important and civic-minded man like Mr. LaPierre needs a nice place to relax at the end of a hard day keeping guns safe and readily available to all who need one or two or 50 in order to exercise their god-given right to hunt or defend themselves or commit a mass killing. And let’s not forget all that work that keeps high-capacity magazines safe from harm. And goodness knows he makes only a piddling in salary, benefits, and kick-backs and could barely afford a small shack in a seedy part of town if not for the generosity of others.
When you’re really full of shit it’s nice to have a bathroom nearby, I s’pose.
And it’s in a guard-gated community. I wonder if, unlike the rest of Texas, there’s a CC&R against open carry? You know, like at NRA Headquarters as well as its various blood-sucker conventions.
