Good observation! Albuquerque has two NPR stations (well, actually, with HD, probably at least four!!), and they have different programming. But besides the news programs, we get definitely lefty stuff like Democracy Now! and the New Yorker Radio Hour, etc. NPR covers the Israeli genocide of Palestine, which seems rare elsewhere, as well as the non-stop Israeli attacks and territory seizures in Lebanon (what truce?) and Syria (don’t they have enough problems already?)

I’m reminded of a thought that I don’t think I’ve seen discussed or explained—certainly not to my satisfaction.
But why on Earth would Russian Agent Orange want to shut down media he and his misadministration have (near-)total and direct control over?
Donnie Dumbshit could have them all spewing his personally approved propaganda worldwide 24/7/365/4 years. Why wouldn’t he orgasm himself to death with that?

He will then proclaim that he sees nothing wrong and find a way to blame Biden.

What we’re seeing is not about morality and law and order. We are seeing the unrelenting destruction of our country by pretentious scumbags, by crazy people, by psychotics, by incompetents who couldn’t manage a 25 cent lemonade stand. The only ‘morality’ that matters now is the one that sends these scum back into their slime holes. If we are not at war with these people, they win. We lose, and America goes into the trash heap of people that refused to fight for their freedom.

Of course they’ll make warrantless arrests of citizens. Putin does it all the time, and we know that Baby Trump wants to be just like his Master.
As a corollary, we must consider that there will be no more elections in “America”, starting with the Federal elections next year. And of course no one sees this coming because…wait for it…:“It can’t happen here!”… Yeah, keep telling yourselves that, morons.

If a person holds a doctorate in higher mathematics or physics or some other field, and he voted for and supports Trump, that person is a stupid s.o.b., especially if he doesn’t see what’s going on today. And if he does see and he supports these actions and policies of Trump, then he is a criminal, just like Trump and his crew of incompetent psycho operatives running the government.

They’ve been having elections “without having elections” for some time now. Thanks to the benefit that gerrymandering offers them. If you can’t eliminate the votes of those who aren’t exactly like you, at least you can make sure that their votes/voices are much smaller.

Crawling before these people absolutely will not help. I realize they feel a responsibility to the institution and to their employees. But they can’t be helped now. Not this way, anyway. It’s better to say “Eat me. I quit.” And then maybe this can all be rebuilt in a couple of election cycles, if the American people return to their senses. If they don’t, it won’t matter.

I can’t speak for math or physics PhDs (or any PhDs), although math and physics were my subjects; however, plenty of engineers fall head over heels for the Convict Chief. It further validates all those “Engineer, scientist, and mathematician” jokes.

I can’t quantify it, but over the decades, and working with persons with all kinds of educational backgrounds, my sense among “technical” types was that they had not been exposed to many of the subjects that round us off – history, govn’t and institutions, literature. I’ve heard a few complain of being forced to "waste time on ‘damned cultural courses’ ". More recently in retirement, I recall one of my physicians complaining about Hillary. When i asked why, he gave me some bumper sticker reply.
My heart doctor believed Obama was personally responsible for a change in Medicare that caused his computer to freeze up. So, there’s at least some validity to the stereotype.
ETA: Since writing this, a lifelong friend told me that he learned that his retired brother-in-law, a retired and highly regarded engineer, is a trumper of the Ayn Rand stripe.he avoids politics with the guy for the sake of family peace.
