A lot of things happened. Here are some of the things. This is TPM’s Morning Memo. Sign up for the email version. An Abundance Of Caution In a case marked by Donald Trump’s determined efforts to delay it at any cost, it was a little perplexing when Special Counsel Jack Smith asked the judge in the Jan.…
Congrats @theghostofeustacetilley !
If it’s illegal to video at Arlington, then arrest them , damn it !
Also. What’s the story with Junior and an emu???
Neckless F@ck Steven Cheung said authority who tried to do something was in a mental health crisis. And they’ve got tape!
Oh crap. I missed that one. At least he wasn’t killing it, stuffing it or wearing it as a headdress. Small miracles.
ETA: sadly, the early emu never did get the brain worm.
First, Tim Walz is a treasure. He’s an inspired pick by Kamala.
Second, I don’t watch CNN and I’m not very familiar with Dana Bash, so for those of you familiar with her - do you think she’ll be fair with Kamala/Tim on Thursday?
Go Blue! (in football and politics).
I read that. Cheung is the perfect rep for TFG…two humongous assholes.

Gang Trump needs to be deep-sixed on November 5th.
That pic of Smith is so very useful.
Trump is running a new NFT promotion. If you buy 20 of his trading cards he’s throwing in a headstone from Arlington National Cemetary.
In regards to NWKWJSWUTITJ6C, can commenters use a little more discretion when using abbreviations in comments? You lose the point of the comment when a custom or no-common abbreviation is used and not understood by a reader. Which is the fundamental utility of a written language.
By-the-way, the above is my abbreviation of the title of this morning’s MM for illustration.
I can’t bring myself to click on that video to watch it. It would have been helpful to at least give us a vague idea of what it entails.
If anyone else was willing to watch it, would you be willing to give a quick explanation?
https://www.nytimes.com/2024/08/27/us/politics/rfk-jr-whale-head.html
In an update to the bizarre RFK Jr whale decapitation story, the NYT says what could get him in legal trouble is if there remained soft tissue on the carcass at the time he removed the head. Based on the story of whale fluids pouring into the Kennedy car and onto his kid during that 5 hour odyssey, the answer to that question sounds like a most definite YES.
If asked for comment, Tim Walz might have said something like this about RFK Jr going kooky at the mention of a whale:
From Tim Walz when he heard the details:
“My name’s pronounced ‘Walls’, and not ‘Whales’
So don’t come after me
With chainsaw and bungee
What you’ll lose sounds like ‘Balls’, and not ‘Bails’”

TCF preying on the magats? Couldn’t happen to a nicer group of people…
@massie video was a commercial for TCF’s new cards.
Joyce Vance put the new indictment most clearly, Smith is going after candidate Trump, not president Trump.
Imagine someone getting worked up just because you are desecrating the graves if fallen military personnel.
