Article VI of the NC Constitution guarantees to all citizens the right to vote. Some of these new statutory provisions appear to threaten the corresponding right of having those votes counted. SCONC can fix that if it comes to it. I presume 2026 will be the test run.

OT but interesting article in the NYT below, about how the U.S. is building an early detection system for geoengineering of the climate by other nations or individuals. The idea is to establish a baseline of data, so any sudden increase in particulates (the main way climate might be modified) can be detected.
Nothing said about what the response would be, if another nation or wealthy individual tried it at a scale large enough to be detected. So just add this to your list of new things to worry about. Like we don’t have enough already. Free gifted link:

There is a shred of truth that Dems played nicey-nice for far too long, but our nation has shown there are only about 80 million people who pay any attention at all, or care enough, to lift the smallest finger and get out and vote. Only about 80 million who recognize the ramifications of what a vote for these evil freaks means.
That paucity is shared across most every demographic. Total indifference, ignorance, laziness, or fear that is endemic. We can’t seem to squeeze out any more than 80 million no matter how dire the circumstances, nor momentous the stakes for liberty, health, women, climate. Out of 350 million people. So we roughly have the cooperation (or eyes and ears) of 25% - 30% of the population. The rest are blotting us out.
Sure the Dems or The Left have made their mistakes. And how can you NOT look at our population and realize they are severely fucked in the head…so reaching them and convincing them or changing their behavior is going to be a low-success effort. If anyone from our side has found away to get them to do the right thing by appealing to their lowest instincts, I haven’t seen it. The Right figured out it works smashingly to avoid all that pesky ‘getting them to do the right thing’ or having to craft any kind of meaningful policy; and going straight for appealing to their lowest instincts.
No, I don’t think The Dems are responsible at all. Their failures are a matter of small degree compared to the faults in the material they have to work with.

Write your Senator and Congressperson.Call often and leave messages. Snail mail still works. Most elected officials will tell you the volume of constituent correspondence on an issue matters to them.
