Hold the line Cooper!! These NC GQP types are really brazened about their anti-democracy agenda. Were they all sponsored by Leonard Leo? Or maybe vultures just decided there’s enough corpses for their specific group and nobody else?

It is clear that the Republicans want to rule and not govern with the consent of the governed. Anti-democracy, Anti-American and bigoted the lot.

Can the next session of the legislature not undo this crime? I’ll adopt a wait and see attitude. Meanwhile, GQP delenda est.

No because you’d need a Democratic majority to undo it unless you can get some Republicans to switch sides. And the doom loop NC politics is in is that it’s a relatively weak governorship with no say at all in redistricting and since partisan labels were applied to Supreme Court justices in the state by the Republican legislature of course, voters have shifted from their prior pattern of electing liberals over conservatives to voting Republicans over Democrats just because of the branding of the two parties. And NC politics will not be fixed until the NC Supreme Court undoes partisan gerrymandering.

The utter gall and shamelessness of the NC Republican power grab is Trumpian in its threat to America.
