Noem Squirms Over Pregnant 10-Year-Old Forced To Travel For Abortion

South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem (R) on Sunday struggled to defend her state’s abortion ban, which only excludes cases where the pregnant’s person’s life is at risk, when asked about an incident involving a child who is traveling across state lines to obtain an abortion.

Political Bull Shit!

She knows better, but doesn’t have the spine to live up to it.

Doing the best for her political interests.

Noem avoided answering the question by saying that situation is one where the doctors and loved ones would have to make decisions for that family.

“That’s what’s interesting about the time we live in right now, is every state will have different laws on the books,” Noem said. “The decisions will be made by the legislators that are closest to the people. That’s appropriate. It’s the way our Constitution intended.”

So which is it - the doctors and loved ones have to make the decision for the family or the “legislators closest to the people.”

“That patient is now heading west to Indiana given that an abortion ban in Ohio, which prohibits the medical procedure when fetal cardiac activity begins, around six weeks…”

How fast is our world’s “F’d Up” button flashing when Indiana is the (relatively) sane state?

Indiana may be gun-shy about potentially creating another Pence…

“What are we doing about that?”

What are you doing about it?

Oh, I know. You’re electing them.

I had a case like this once. So don’t tell me it doesn’t happen. They aren’t hypotheticals. The term tragic is not strong enough. Life shattering might be a better description. Republicans who refuse to answer questions about such cases can go to hell.

Something tells me that’s going to end faster than one of Zsa Zsa Gabor’s marriages.

And what is it? What are we doing about that? What are we doing about those individuals that do this to these children?” Noem said.

We elected one of them to the presidency.

And to the Governorship of South Dakota. Noom is being touted as a VP candidate. How “f’d up” is that?

I always thought that people were the thing “closest to the people”.

So shouldn’t…you know…“people” make those decisions for themselves?

I can’t possibly believe in the evil treatment of girls and women, I’m a grandma.

“Got a 1-year-old little granddaughter named Ms. Addie. I can’t even imagine,” Noem said. “What I would say is, I don’t believe a tragic situation should be perpetuated by another tragedy. And so there’s more that we have got to do to make sure that we really are living a life that says every life is precious, especially innocent lives that have been shattered, like that 10-year-old girl.”

Thanks for the sermon, but all those people in SD dead from covid, the dead immigrant meat packing workers and the guy your AG ran over aren’t there to rebut, Governor Mutton.

This is America. Do you really think people should make important life decisions? That is the job of the gerrymandered legislators who work tirelessly for the Citizens United donors who hired them.

So the federal government has no authority, but it grants state governments the authority?

Where is that in the Constitution?

Kinzinger knew Noem as a colleague and likened her now to someone/thing that had been body snatched, noting that This is not the Kristi Noem I served with. …At the time, she would have put her country above her political career.

You have to go back to before the Civil War to find that sort of states rights interpretation of the Constitution or at least before the great depression. Apparently that is where the unelected super legislature is taking America.
