I see a willingness by the Freedom Caucus to treat Mike Johnson fairly. They let him survive with Democratic votes because he is new. They are promising to be consistent after this one time. Consistency is a good thing in my view.
I can see that the power hungry and very bitter Kevin McCarthy is imploding and exhibiting unhinged and rabid behaviors, which is also a good thing.

The GOP threatened a default on the National Debt. Then they threatened a government shutdown in October and again this month. Two more shutdown threats are on the horizon for January and February.
Now the threat is to shut down the House of Representatives in December, apparently. Just so we cannot even go one month without some kind of nihilistic threat.
One thing this accomplishes, the Dems look helpless.

BUDGET is the magic word! These MAGA types are too stupid or too lazy to write a freaking budget! Actually, the budget would force them to think and agree on some basic numbers and work forward. This terrorism/hostage thing seems to have a lot more appeal- you can always demand more, and never take yes for an answer. Kind of like some responses to Vivek claiming he wants to fire half the federal staff Day One- some people are saying he can fire 90%.
