No Leadership, Myopia, Fears Of Overreach: Why The Gov Failed To Stop The Capitol Breach | Talking Points Memo

Ryan Greer kept his schedule for the afternoon of Jan. 6 open.

He recalled having a meeting that morning with an open-source intelligence group in London that was also watching closely to see what would happen.

BIG leadership vacuum, even on the Left. Obama performed his service, and he deserves to retire. But who is leading the Left or the Right now? As far as I can see, neither major party has an avatar, a leader, a centralized clearing house of ideas. It’s all open to anyone, which can be as much of a danger as being closed to new ideas.

And now Trump has permanently been banned from Twitter. Now I am going to have to go to Parler.

Not sure what my handle will be. Suggestions?

I might go with, “Alex Jones told me to buy gold but the Jews bought it all up. What’s up with that? “

No fear of overreach for BLM. Funny how that works, in a white supremacist society.

The depth of depravity here can be measured by the Republicans’ sudden desperation for healing and civility.

They bought the pony. They can take the ride.

Perhaps. I think the biggest problem was the pro Trump sentiments of the folks that were supposed to stop a pro Trump riot. Until that crap went past the point of no return law enforcement and the rioters were one pro Trump party.

I mean, Donald did just leave him at the hands of the unruly mob. Pence surely thought that fate would be reserved for others.
