Remember how not too long ago we praised those who fought in WWII and those who on the home front did whatever they could to support the war effort? Does anyone think that that kind of thing could happen again?

Ration cards would be a hoot in these times.

Yes.

But we must keep the $$$$$$$$$ people out of it. In the next months, people will be able to differentiate the $$$$$$$$$$$$ people and the American People.

$$$$$$$$$$$ people=Those who say and think: “How can I PROFIT from the anguish the American People are suffering?”

And people immediately started debating him.

Not when self-indulgence is one of the main drivers of the economy. Make note some time of how many ads you see that invite you to be undisciplined in some way.

I support jailing of people who fail to wear masks insisde stores. 30 days for no mask, 14 days for wearing it without covering your damn nose.

I am entirely serious about that.

I’ve seen that several times and may never get over the stupidity made visible. It’s like going around sucking your thumb.

Fauci always wears a mask, when speaking to the public, it seems. Perhaps he can weigh in more often.

Is this multiple choice?

97 percent.

Only “several” times? It’s roughly 25% at my local grocery store.

I try to limit my indoor time but I haven’t seen anything like that.

Ration Cards…They might snap us out of it.

I know of people (nowhere around ME!!!) who have not changed their behavior since the beginning of this year.

Like I have always said:

(1) We have always had a vibrant Fourth Estate
(2) We do not abut a hostile country
(3) We have never been invaded*
(4) We have never been occupied*
(5) Aside from Trump, we have never had a dictator
(6) We have always enjoyed freedom of expression
(7) We have enjoyed Due Process and the Presumption of Innocence
(8) The closest we have ever been to an international notion of “starvation” on a mass scale was the Great Depression

That’s why Trump is still in office: we have never had anyone like him before long enough to be scared for our collective FUCKING LIVES. We are like the guy in the after-shave commercial BEFORE getting the after-shave slap and saying “Thanks! I needed that!” Because we have no frame of reference to place just how dangerous Trump is. There is no Granddad or Grandma to talk about the LAST dictator we had…Talk to people like Charlie Cook and he’ll say something like, “Well, Trump looks bad in these polls…but we’re too far out…ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN”.

“Anything can happen!!!??” yea or nay for the destruction of this Republic??!!??

Did FDR blithely tell the American people, “Anything can happen” in 1942?

*Civil War notwithstanding for the persnickety

But our Precedent sez 99.99999% of cases don’t lead to cooties

People are frightened in Tucson and mask compliance is quite high, 90-95%, by my observation at places like Costco, Trader Joes, and Pharmacy Chain stores. I have no idea, though, what it’s like at the Dollar Store in “Abrasive Chaps”, AZ, though.

Too often I see people walking around with a mask wrapped around the front of their necks. I say give them thirty days in the pokey for that stupid fuckery too.

I often see then wearing it under their nose. Is that some kind of special dog whistle or what?

Why not just wear it on the back of the head?

Funny…Dems are frightened of COVID and GOPPERs are frightened of sharing the country with “lesser peoples”.

Enough to die for.:grimacing:

With the Senate on recess and stimulus programs running out, we’re on a non-stop crazy train to severe recession (depression)

Alaska , Florida , Nevada , South Dakota , Texas , Washington , and Wyoming have no state income tax. Sales tax revenues are way off. These places will be in deep economic shit.
