It’s highly unusual for the United States’ top diplomat to participate in such a partisan domestic political event. In fact, Pompeo’s appearance violates his own State Department’s policy against taking a stance in a political campaign.
When has that ever stopped anyone? I mean, seriously, who’s going to stop them? Barr? It is to laugh.
I’ll be watching Cleveland and Minnesota baseball with dear Hubby. I’ll follow the blog and comments here - that’s as close as I want to get to any of this vitriol (uplifting, indeed…).
This is emblematic of the double standard Republicans insist upon. If a Dem SecState had done this, they would make a huge stink about it and not let it go until the media roasted them. But when THEY do it, they feel it’s okay to ignore the law or anything as long as they get their way.
Oh look, another predictable night of Fourth Estate failure. Thanks, but I’d rather gouge my eyes out with a spork and then pack my still bleeding eye sockets with pig shit.
When we move to CT in a couple of years, hubby will have a choice, but right now, the Yankees seem to be winning his heart. Why not both, it’s ok with me.
Here’s to viewership numbers as abysmal as they were last night. Down 28% from the 2016 republican convention, and 15% fewer viewers than the first night of the DNC this year. Sadly, though, the DNC was also down from their 2016 viewership – around 24%.
I’ll be watching something almost as horrible and ungodly, the Mets 7 inning double header games against the Marlins. (shuddering in disgust)
But I will follow along here for the updates. It’s the best way to endure the RNC.
The very first words of the RNC last night were "Welcome to the RNC in Washington DC! It sounded like Trump trying to snub the governor of North Carolina for not letting him have his rally in Charlotte.
I could barely tune in for more than one minute at a time. I tried. … I ended up watching a documentary on the Magna Carta on netflix instead.
