Newly-Installed Postmaster General Denies Mail Delivery Is Being Slowed To Tilt Election | Talking Points Memo

The lady at the left of the photo in shades: is that Nancy De Vos? Her sign says, “Yay, Blue!” I had to ask myself why at this campaign rally she was supporting the Blue states. Then I realized what she means is, “Support Your Local Police” (cf. John Birch Society, 1950s).

The goal is to mess up Democrats’ votes but repubs’ votes will be messed up as well. Unless there’s a way to identify D ballots and R ballots from the outside envelope and give “preferential” treatment to the would be Dem ballots. The schemers are screwing themselves which works for me.

Here in Albuquerque, they’re using an extra mailperson to deliver packages. They can do the same for ballots.

Here’s what is killing the PO, it’s Congress!

How Congress Manufactured a Postal Crisis — And How to Fix it

An unprecedented congressional mandate threatens the Postal Service’s ability to continue to provide good jobs and universal service.

Rural communities depend on the US Postal Service, as it the only package delivery service which guarantees coverage to every address in America.

Across the country, citizens have been experiencing late arrivals of prescription medicine, bill and mortgage payments, etc. Some of these delays stretch to a week or two. There should be a full-court press with television and radio advertisements highlighting this failure of the Trump Administration and the impact to all Americans, rural and urban.

He’s lying, like everyone else in that administration.

From 1940 to 1945, the United States put supplying the Soviet Union** as a completed task (and succeeded)…as well as helping other allies.

The United States became a nuclear power (before the AXIS, thankfully).

The United States went from an army measured in the hundreds of thousands to in the neighborhood of ten times that.

More than I care to list here.

The United States can arrange to handle voting in any way it chooses, provided that the GOP, as it is presently operationalized, can be controlled.

Could be. I’m hearing that he has eliminated overtime. Taken together these two factors would turn the trick tRump is hoping for as long as his supporters turn out on November 3 and can find a polling place.

In his responses, the postmaster is (naturally, for a Republican) describing the Postal Service as a business. Following that line of thinking, you would naturally try to minimize extra pay for overtime work, even if the mail had to be delivered a day or two late. Naturally you would deliver packages under contract from Amazon before first-class mail. Naturally you would stress the responsibility of local election officials to allow extra time for the receipt of ballots or to impose earlier deadlines on the voters. Trouble is, the postal service is not just a business. Is is a public service.

The old guy on the far right has a White Supremacy flag.

They look like such charming folks, like people’s grandparents and probably are and there’s that goddamn flag.

Edit to add: I missed the “white supremacy” flag. For some reason it doesn’t pop out at me. Maybe the dark color.

We all have the same [real] goddamn flag. No reason why it should belong exclusively to them.

Welp this Postmaster General guy (former mega donor rich guy who gave shitloads of money to trump’s campaign) has the lying thing down pat so he’ll be good to go.

Not in blue and white with a black field for the stars and a big blue stripe - that is the White Supremacy version of the American flag.

I know because it just turned up with a motorcycle gang here.

Thinking specifically of the Marshall Plan.

The Marshall Plan was an American initiative passed in 1948 for foreign aid to Western Europe. The United States transferred over $12 billion in economic recovery programs to Western European economies after the end of World War II.

It’s part of the vetting process. Each nom is given a set of questions, the more ludicrous and far fetched the answer the more likely he is to come on board.

Obviously this will happen even though Barr made his best attempt to adopt trumPP’s humpbacked slouch, badly fitting suit and shit eating grin.

Every Christmas season for the 30 years my spouse delivered mail, USPS paid overtime to clerks and carriers - often whether carriers and clerks wanted it or not. USPS also asked retired clerks and carriers to come in for the season to help.

It’s utter bullshit that the same can’t be done for this quadrennial event. And the purposeful delay of first class mail is beyond the pale; postal employees have been fired for pulling this stunt - including supervisors.

String up this lying clown with the rest of the circus.
