It’s arguably been a challenging week for false information peddlers who seem unable to keep from getting caught advancing fact-free claims as they mount falsehood to generate outrage over a nonexistent meat rationing policy — and now — a fictional tale that Vice President Kamala Harris’ book was part of a welcome kit for migrant children.

It was her “breaking point,” she now says, but I suspect she was broken a while ago.
Fox News and The New York Post are virulent cancers on the body politic and American culture.
But does it matter that the false information was ratted out, when it had already circulated through a well-oiled machine of false information?
Yes. It matters because she’s confirmed she was ordered to write it. She’s on-record giving evidence of an organized campaign of misinformation between Murdoch properties. Something illegal comes out of this, now it’s a conspiracy across the whole conglomerate.

Exactumundo. “Ordered”… It seems to beg the question, by whom? Then again, it could be mere deflection from their own personal sense of guilt.
So this is how they’ll create false equivalency: Donnie profits from the presidency, in violation of the Emoluments Clause; but, look, the new vice president is doing the same thing in a somehow worse way.
Not that it matters to them that the story about Harris is a tissue of lies.

Did the reporter not understand what kind of a media outlet the NY Post is when she applied for a job there?

And that proverb shows the difference has long been known, and the right-wing mediasphere exploits it consciously. Trump too, would do it incessantly, make a wild accusation or insinuation knowing that any refutation would come crawling feebly in after a storm of initial coverage. It’s like–let me think–it’s like a pandemic. You have to block the paths by which it spreads.
Assuming the Post reporter is not lying I can sympathize but, for future reference, the time to resign on principle is better before rather than after.

Mr. Murdoch, who spoke frequently with Mr. Trump, installed a new editor at the tabloid last month, Keith Poole, who formerly served in a top position at Mr. Murdoch’s London paper The Sun. At least eight journalists at The Post have departed the paper recently, including a White House correspondent, Ebony Bowden.
It seems that the Murdochs have settled on all out war against the truth and against Biden/Harris - to no one’s surprise - but have decided to leap into complete “let’s just make shit up” mode. The new editor must be thrilled to work in the US where it is much harder to bring libel cases against fact free media than it is in Britain.
I think one of the requirements for getting a job at a “news” outlet owned by Murdoch is that you’re already broken.
That was a long time ago: Ms. Italiano has worked for the NYP for years and years.
She has also worked for Fox News and similar.
