“inappropriate and invasive”? You mean disgusting and repellant.

[Peck] argued that the two were not the “same kind of gay.” Both Peck and Buttigieg are openly gay.

The peckerhead is right on at least this point. One of them is an intelligent, loving and caring human being. The other is a fetid piece of crap named Dale Peck.

In May 2011, Peck’s criticism of Jewish-American literature in which he claimed “[I]f I have to read another book about the Holocaust, I’ll kill a Jew myself” prompted a public outcry. His editors later removed the statement from his article.[7]

I think one response cld be, “Hey, we fucked up.” Another could be, “It was satire!” Combining the two translates as “I’m out at dinner and panicking and we really haven’t come up with an explanation yet.” https://t.co/u324NV2FX5

From my vantage point it seems the not entirely unlikely prospect that we could end up with a Harris (woman of color in an interracial marriage) and Buttigieg (gay married man) Democratic Party ticket is entirely too much for some folks out there. They are running scared, and it is beginning to show in strangely sordid ways.

As a queer man, I found it offensive. Hilariously so. If you didn’t realize that it was deliberately transgressive by the end of the first parenthetical statement, you really need to get a clue.

Pray tell, how could this piece have ever come to the point of being posted in the first place?? Good. God. Almighty!

So I’m trying to think at what point Peck decided he had permission to let loose with this hateful exercise in stereotyping. “Let’s dish, homos” is clearly one launch point: like a million other insider haters, he opens with a claim of insider knowledge to then authenticate as true the the hate he spews. Yet I think the real take off point is the ad-hominem attack on ‘white neoliberal dudes.’ It’s the sort of gesture people have gotten comfortable with, as a ‘let’s get real’ (‘let’s dish?’)’ tool to fight white male privilege. But I think there’s still a difference, in using that tool, between wielding it as a real analytical weapon–to accurately call out privilege or similarity–and using it to create a soapbox on which to stage one’s own prejudice, as well as to denigrate and destroy. Peck’s post seems like the classic rant of a person who feels free to be hateful as he wants, just as long as he does enough gesturing to claim solidarity with the in crowd. The distance between this sort of demagoguery, and Trump’s, is not as great as one might think.

It’s the Democratic Party.
Always.

Please do not use GOP insult framing when referring to the Democratic Party.

New Republic should make this guy drive his sorry self to South Bend, knock on Mayor Pete’s front door, and apologize to him and his husband with national media cameras rolling. Nothing less is acceptable.

Well, you have to give Peck a little credit. At least he managed not to use the terms “butt pirate” and “fag hag”.

But I believe I deserve full credit - and a Gold Star on my forehead - for using the term “asshole” to describe Dale Peck. And TNR.

Sorry, that was an innocent typo. I’ll edit right away.

Listen, I got enough problems with my OWN sex life; I don’t need to speculate on ANYBODY ELSE’ practices.
What was this guy TALKING about?
I don’t get it. NONE of his business either. Shut up just SHUT UP.

Peck is a Republican conservative, which means he claims a right to fondle anyone in plain sight, while demanding that his “freedom” to do so be respected.

We know the con.

In this instance, this isn’t any of Peck’s fucking business. GET REPUBLICANS OUT OF OUR LIVES!!!

Well ‘he’ seems nice.

It also seems like he is one of those people who sit around all day trying to think of something ‘controversial’ to say. (Hey, I rhymed!)
