The Ukrainian government was made aware just a few days after the country’s President spoke with President Donald Trump on the phone that military aid was being held up purposefully, The New York Times reported Wednesday.
The Ukrainegate will go unpunished unless someone finds a blue dress.
Come to think of it, there was a hooker in plain sight but nothing happened to the criminal.
So take all these revelations coming at the speed of light with a grain of salt.
Republicans will never go against Trump - not the Senators not the Congressman not the blue collar workers of Ohio not the suburban wives not the old white men in suits not the Federalist boys not the Koch brothers. Nancy Pelosi is looking for a unicorn in her quest for a bipartisan consensus on impeachment. That ain’t gonna happen.
All these yet some more incriminating pieces of news get our hopes up, but somehow Republicans seem invincible. The WMD lies. The torture memos. The US Attorneys purge. The Mueller report. And now this.
Don’t get me wrong. I would be ecstatic if finally something happens. But the history in this context is a bitch. Why this is so is very mysterious.
Well, they sure don’t seem invincible to me. We may not be able to have him removed, but he will be impeached and I feel more and more that they’ll lose at the ballot box. While I may not have a whole lot of faith in the legal system, I have a ton of faith in the ambition of various Democratic AGs and US Attorneys.
This puts a whole different spin on the texts that were being exchanged.
[8/9/19, 11:27 AM] Kurt Volker: Hi Mr Mayor! [Rudy] Had a good chat with Yermak last night. He was pleased with your phone call. Mentioned Z making a statement. Can we all get on the phone to make sure I advise Z correctly as to what he should be saying? Want to make sure we get this done right. Thanks!
and this later exchange…
[8/9/19, 5:35:53 PM] Gordon Sondland: Morrison ready to get dates as soon as Yermak confirms.
[8/9/19, 5:46:21 PM] Kurt Volker: Excellent!! How did you sway him?
[8/9/19, 5:47:34 PM] Gordon Sondland: Not sure i did. I think potus really wants the deliverable
[8/9/19, 5:48:00 PM] Kurt Volker: But does he know that?
[8/9/19, 5:48:09 PM] Gordon Sondland: Yep
[8/9/19, 5:48:37 PM] Gordon Sondland: Clearly lots of convos going on
So we have Rudy talking to Zelinskyy’s aide, Yermak, on Aug 8th. Presumably, the $400 million is discussed at this point.
And soon after, we find out that Yermak is completely on board with getting Zelinskyy to provide the “deliverable” that “potus really wants”.
At this point, it does not appear that Volker knew that military aid was being withheld – but Sondland seems to indicate he knows what Rudy told Yermak.
Volker: But does he [Yermak] know that [Trump really wants the deliverable]?
Sondland: Yep
The STUPID has risen to the top of the GOP. Every day the Republicans defy the usual norms. I must say, I am impressed by their ability to up their stupid almost daily. Impressive!

TRUMP on Syria’s oil: “We’ve secured the oil and, therefore, a small number of US Troops will remain in the area. Where they have the oil. And we’re going to be protecting it, and we’ll be deciding what we’re going to do with it in the future.”
I’m old enough to remember when it was a “how DARE you!!!” to suggest a Republican administration was muscling into a middle eastern country just to take the oil. The deconstructed malignant id of the party brags about it.
“They get their oil back when they provide some dirt on Elizabeth Warren. Yeah, I said that!! So what if it’s illegal?! Eff you!! Come and get me, coppers!!!”
