New Jobs Report Shows Trump Can't Control Data by Firing People He Doesn't Like

President Donald Trump learned the hard way Friday morning that firing the head of the Bureau of Labor Statistics doesn’t change the facts: the economy is cooling, the unemployment rate is going up, and the number of job openings isn’t keeping pace. The U.S. economy added just 22,000 jobs in August, less than economists had…

Actually, it’s the intent of preventative vaccination is to vaccinate as many in the population as possible - 95% - at which point herd immunity kicks in.

Milk?

Forgive. Meant to post on another thread. Bygones!

I remember when 4% employment was considered “full employment” by economists. When it goes below that employers are having trouble finding the people they need and there is inflationary pressure on wages to go up.

So is 4.3% really a harbinger of doom?

It’s the trendline that the unemployment percentage is increasing which is alarming. September’s number is 4.3%. October will undoubtably be higher.

That being said, the administration has removed many workers from the economy through deportations and general intimidation (i.e. they’re staying away from work to avoid detention). This may blunt future unemployment numbers such that they don’t [by themselves] indicate major problems in the economy. Other metrics though (retail sales figures, GDP growth, etc.) will tell the whole story.

If Donnie Trump were even half the businessman that he thinks he is, he would know that other entities compile jobs data as well.

And that he can’t put a lid on this type of information.

I seem to remember the days when the anticipation of President Biden’s jobs numbers, that came out each month, didn’t reach some vaunted 220,000 jobs creation peak. Right on cue, it was then that the mouth-breathers and financial gurus (mostly your rightwing Fix Business News and CNBC corporate-loving bloviators) would have so much to say criticizing Biden over how he was beginning to come up short and somehow fail the country.

I’d take those numbers Biden helped produce by supporting workers any day of the week over what we have now under the moron in the White House today.

Everything tRump has done to the economy in 8 months has been self-inflicted harm to its citizens.

He was handed a healthy and successful economy and proceeded to tear it all down because of his imaginary notion that all of it was made up to make Biden look good at the expense of the truth. No it wasn’t. Biden was just more competent and had good people in gov’t to help manage what was happening in the economy with better policies that didn’t destroy our alliances and trade partners.

Like I said…All this damage to workers is purely unnecessary and self-inflicted. Its not all just AI. Its not giving a shit about actual workers who are the engine of this economy.

We really don’t know yet whether changing the BLS head will change the data. The new head is not in place AND until that person has been there a while won’t have the chance to change how these reports are put together as that will take some time. If in 2 or 3 months the data look great from BLS but the private data (payroll reporting etc.) look bad then this headline might be true.

Gaslight.

The “right” answer is the one a corrupt administration wants, only then can the word “accuracy” be applied.

The firehose of bullshit from this administration is truly a thing to behold.

ETA: I don’t think anyone with their wits about them would buy a used car from Lutnick; just say’n.

Seeing how fast law firms, universities and major corporations bent and truckled to him, I think you are going to be unpleasantly surprised.

My gawd, if you are going to act like a supervillain, have all the resources to be a supervillain, talk like a supervillain, you damn well ought to be able to produce a jobs report that is the best-est one ever.

Jobs should be falling from the skies like raindrops, people should be heading for work humming merry tunes in mass and everyone looks at your jobs report and asks if there is a bound edition.

Most incompetent, evil administration ever!

Sigh. yeah okay. Since when does reality matter to this fat fuck?

Step 1 - Fire the Director of the BLS

Step 2 - Make up whatever numbers you like, and destroy anyone who disagrees

Not hard if you’re a sociopath following Putin’s orders.
