New Evidence Shows Just How Badly One Republican Senator Beclowned Himself in the Jack Smith Hearing

DNC tried to put money where it would do the most good. They are cautious in their targeting and lean towards protecting incumbents.

Wait! There are more MAGA asshats out there:

While Schmitt is stupid -
this was pure evil premeditated fraud …
It was intentional weaponized stupidity …

It was a variation of
“they are eating the cats, they are eating the dogs”
“There are furries flying airplanes”
"There are welfare queens in mink coats driving Cadillacs - everywhere "
…this ain’t new - hundreds of years ago people were absurdly (& maliciously) accused of being a “witch” - and were killed as a result of the bullshit claims.
… and Joe McCarthy destroyed lives with his fabrications and dishonest distortions.

All total fabrication - with so much absurdity that the object of the attack has to get tangled up in the ick in order to disarm the
dirty lie bomb.

Schmitt may be stupid - but he is also evil - pure deceitful evil and utterly dishonest - and - grotesquely maliciously opportunistic.

Schmitt’s stunt was not a naive blunder… anymore than the ugly rumors that John McCain had an illegitimate black child we just a careless mistake … the bastards who propelled that lie knew exactly what they were doing an it was with malicious intent.

Look - this is textbook Trump style& strategy - Trump knew 100% that Obama was without question - born in Hawaii - Trump knew with absolutely total certainty that the " birth certificate" nonsense was baseless - but Trump ran with it because he thought it would benefit him.

“beyond stupid” and all that, but what does it say about Democrats? Republicans own the House, Senate and Presidency. How did that happen?

NO, he does not -
Schmitt is totally unencumbered by any form of conscience or ethical standards.

This whole thing seems like an overly complicated response to a ridiculous premise on its face. Even if, by some strange coincidence, Smith lied about going to an Atlanta Hawks game, other than the date offered there was no evidence of a conspiratorial netting with … other prosecutors.

That the entire notion was clearly based on a misunderstanding — Hawkeyes vs. Hawks — belies that the eagerness to wrap a bogus conspiracy around that factual mistake. For all we know, Schmitt and his staff KNEW the base allegation of attending a game in Atlanta was false, but he figured he would try a half court shot anyway. Maybe it would work anyway. His doubling down is clear evidence it was bad faith all along.

BINGO!!! YOU GOT IT!

… and the cheap cartoonish bullying banter by Schmitt to try to turn it all into a slam-dunk speaks volumes … !
Schmitt was running the “when did you stop beating your wife?” Bullshit … and he did not want to get slowed down by facts or questions which would reveal that he was fundamentally perpetrating a hoax - attempting to construct a fraudlent storyline… and that there was ZERO merit to the crap that he was spewing.

More important question, will there be a roll call vote and will that reach the 60 vote requirement? Probably not to both. Unanimous consent gives them an out “I wasn’t aware the vote was going to be held! I couldn’t be there to object!” or whatever lame excuse they want.

So are we at a point where Smith can sue for libel or slander (I never keep these straight)?

Schmitt is still running around with the absolute debunked lie on national TV to his echosphere.

I can’t help but notice whose face is smallest and whose is largest on that poster. The moment may have been about creating a perjury trap for Smith, but the visual is designed around an unconscious amygdala response to a black woman reviled by the rightwing.

Re the “de-skilling of the general population:” most actual work requires not only skill, but trust. AI cannot be trusted, however skilled it may seem for a time. The global working class, probably around 99% of the general population, has leverage at the point of trust if we can learn how to use it.

I understand the two staffers are young members of the Federalist Society . I don’t think you have to be stupid to be a member of the Federalist Society but it helps.

I guess Schmidtt’s excuse is real men go to mens games, By the way Clark scored 38 points that game including seven 3 pointers. CNN has a photo of Smith at the game.

The GOP – those wondrous champions of women’s sports – can’t tell the Hawks from the Hawkeyes.

These people operate entirely in a post-truth universe. “Truth” is now literally a Trump brand; objectivity is Fake News. The old model required dissemblers to craft sophisticated lies, use cutouts for deniability, and convince followers on objective grounds.

Getting ensnared in the coverup (a la Nixon) was the chief risk when playing on Truth Field. That’s still what they’re attempting with Smith. Going to a hoops game in ATL is nothing by itself, but getting caught lying about it in a hearing validates all the Willis innuendo without need for further evidence.

Meanwhile the MAGAts are playing “Make your own reality” Calvinball: Open, brazen lying coupled with selective reporting and media silos. Make the emotional case first, then if/when the facts do filter in and cognitive dissonance threatens, the dilemma creates an internal loyalty test: The fake news is obsessed with black/blue vs. white/gold (see how they attack and ridicule us!), while our leaders all confidently say the dress is green with orange spots. Do you dare contradict them and betray your team on the paltry basis of your own eyesight? Or do you accept what you know in your heart is false, and quietly murder your own dignity, as the cult requires?

I don’t think that “Hawks” was ever mentioned. As far as I can see, it is just emails about seats at a game on that day. The dimwit said he checked the college and NBA scedules and could only find that one NBA game in the area and, oh look! It’s in Atlanta and that would fit perfectly into his conspiracy theory so he assumed that was the game. Of course it wouldn’t have occurred to him that a man would go to a women’s game of any sort. I think it was just a coincidence that the teams have similar names.
