The January 6th committee just released another batch of transcripts from their year-and-a-half-long investigation. They include a range of figures, from activists Kyle Kremer and Caroline Wren who played a central part in planning Jan. 6, to more tertiary characters in the ongoing drama like former Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin and former White House aide Johnny McEntee, who is the focal point of this particular story.
Gaetz is a slimeball and fits what the GOP is.

When I was about 7 I shook hands with Eisenhower and I thought he was pretty cool for commanding the D-Day invasion of Europe in WW2. Last GOPer I woulda voted for.
It would be murder, not manslaughter, because he shot the guy intentionally. Whether criminal intent was negated by his mistake of fact, or whether he was justified to shoot if the guy through the window even if he had been a burglar, are separate issues. Either way, accidental shootings frequently do not result in immediate arrest and charges.

A story for you.
In 1978 our farmhouse was invaded by three thugs looking to steal stuff. I was in my 2dn story bedroom, my dad across the hall. He had a shotgun, I had a pistol, the thieves had pistols. I poked my hand holding a pistol around the doorjam and yelled FREEZE!! as they came up the steps… A shot from them rang out so I fired blind twice. One round went thru a step into the basement, the other hit the lead guy in his ass sideways…just muscle. The three fell down the stairs. As they fell the guy in back shot again hitting the guy in front of him in the back of the left knee… The uninjured guy fled out the door and roared away in his car and was caught by the county sheriffs who were waiting. Now in my small rural place we knew each other. I grew up with kids who became sheriff guys… local rural cops. They had told us this invasion was gonna happen. My dad decided we’d look after ourselves…so we did. Cops showed up at our door and we were actually told we’d done good. But they took our weapons as evidence. At trial I was called to the bench and handed my pistol by the judge. As I returned to my seat the lead perp blurted “I’m gonna kill you!” To which the judge smacked his gavel and said “full sentence to be served without parole!! Anything you’d like to add son?”
