New York Times will be the first to do it, guaranteed.

It’s good that the mainline press amd media are denying O2 to this GOP attempted arson.

On Monday evening, Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) urged the media to “print” the alleged name of the whistleblower during a Trump campaign rally in Kentucky.

Not that Russia would want to do anything to interfere in our elections … again.

Are we sure it wasn’t Ukraine media trying to make it look like it was the Russian media?

The only one at NYT I could imagine outing the WB is Ken Vogel. This would be execrable even for him and Mark Zaid would fry Vogel’s nuts.

The press is upholding traditions of protecting sources here, because any media that exposes the whistleblower isn’t going to be trusted not to expose someone who goes to them with information. At least some of them are doing it because it’s the right thing to do…it’s not surprising that Fox is joining that, the news side does try to be a news system despite what happens there (though that seems to be weakening lately).

This won’t hold though, eventually someone is going to say the name live on camera (almost guaranteed during the impeachment hearings since that was already happening behind closed doors), and that will drive the story out. If we had a functional DoJ we would be hearing about the punishment for leaking a whistleblower, but we won’t hear anything from Barr…the entire point here is to terrorize the whistleblower and scare anyone else from coming forward.

We will. The corpulent and flaccid human squid will be expelling a sufficiency of ink to cloud the waters when he gins up the IG/Durham report, and will then propel himself into the depths of abyss to commune with rapacious and bizarre creatures of the deep and Rupert Murdoch.

OT: Apparently, Bannon is to be called as a prosecution witness in Stone’s trial (https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2019/nov/06/steve-bannon-surprise-witness-roger-stone-trial-trump-russia).

That will certainly help Trump defend himself against the charge that he (checks notes) colludes with the Russians.

They want his/her name to check for parking tickets or to expose him/her for wearing blackface on Halloween at age 9. Or, call him/her a commie for reading The New Republic.

Well done.

The alt-right troll circus is going to go all in on this, I guarantee it. James O’Keefe is standing by for a live Periscope ambush of someone.

They are doing their best to get this person murdered, aren’t they? Or, at the very least, to make his or her life so miserable it wouldn’t be worth living. It’s truly horrifying.

I suspect Corporate Legal has weighed in as well.

Assuming they’ve avoided drinking the Kool-Aid I think they understand we’re in perilous times and don’t wish their co’s reporting to be the spark that gets someone killed and sets the kindling ablaze.
