What is the Rightā€™s obsession with Israel?
Israel has universal health care, government subsized college tution, abortion is accepted and legal and they donā€™t accept Jesus as the Messiah!

Anyone have a answer?

This is actually good news, Israel has been a favorite bi-partisan issue for decades, Netanyahu making it a republican issue has many advantages, maybe democrats adopt the Palestinian cause.

We shall see if the next Democratic president has the balls to do what must be done: slash billions in aid to Israel until the Netanyahu regime is no longer in power and we have a genuinely nonpartisan diplomatic relationship with this misguided little country again.

In other news on the diplomatic front, Trump seems to think his personal intervention in the dispute between Hong Kong and China will clear things up.

Does anyone know why the hell taxpayers are cutting a check for Mike Pompeoā€™s services?

I know President Xi of China very well. He is a great leader who very much has the respect of his people. He is also a good man in a ā€œtough business.ā€ I have ZERO doubt that if President Xi wants to quickly and humanely solve the Hong Kong problem, he can do it. Personal meeting?

When did Bibi Netanyahu became a booster of BDS? Barring two American elected representatives from entering Israel would be a gift that will keep on giving to a vocal, but generally ineffective movement.

Trump is also making this hollow overture to help soften any other blows China might decide to make in the trade war he started and is losing pretty badly.

The ā€œsafeguard the one free democracy in the regionā€ talking point, whatever you think of it on its status quo merits, certainly takes an additional faceplant when members of an allied government are forbidden to enter based on their mainstream political views.

Please proceed, Bibi.

The Book of Revelations.

The final battle of Armageddon will take place at the Israeli town of Meggido, between the forces of Good led by the returned Jesus, and the forces of Evil led by Satan.
The Jews will either convert to Christianity, or be cast down with all the other pagans and all those who donā€™t convert to die horrible deaths in the ten-year war of Armageddon which will destroy the Earth. All who do convert will be physically brought up to heaven to watch and cheer on their ā€œteamā€ like in a cosmic box-seat of a football game.
SO, without Israel, none of this can happen.
Or so the acid-induced apocalyptic visions of an Essine Hermit say.
The Evangelical Morons fervently believe this shit, and include Many Republican politicians including the current Secretary of state and other powerful members of the administration and Senate, not to mention most of the Republican House members.

I agree, but for the lack of balls it should have been done years ago. Israel, the Net version at least, is not a friend to the US. REPUGS sure like to bad mouth takers, but give this ā€œtakerā€ nation passes all the time.

Chinese leaders are responsible to look after their economy and the well being of their citizens. But itā€™s not a democracy, and they can incur suffering in the service of long terms goals far easier than Trump can. Trump is convinced he can break China because the populace will grow restive over job losses and economic pain. He may be proven catastrophically wrong.

Oy gevaltā€¦

Am I mistaken to think that the entire delegation should cancel?

Should Bibi follow through with this, itā€™ll be interesting to see Pelosiā€™s response. I would support canceling and giving Bibi the finger. I know there will be possible negative consequences, but thatā€™s the stance Iā€™d more than likely take.

Israel blocks anyone who fails agree with their version of reality and are credible. They donā€™t want their citizens hearing a different version of their propaganda.
American professors who were banned from entering Israel:
Norman Finkelstein
Noam Chomsky
Richard Falk.
