There will be a pardon, so let’s hope there are a lot of potential state charges in the pile of goo that has been Rudy’s life for the last 2 years. Then Bernie Keric can come visit him for a while, and life will have balanced out yet again.

Heh. It’s going to be amusing as to just WHAT Rudy’s pardon is going to encompass, and whether or not the SCOTUS will sustain a pardon granted for corrupt purposes.

Can a president pardon a co-conspirator in order to prevent said accomplice from testifying as to the president’s corrupt actions?

It is interesting that this is coming up now. I thought that they would have waited until after 20 Jan but they may want to get it out in the open before Trump’s pardoning spree makes the investigation moot.

He’ll never see the inside of a cell, but history will remember.

We know what his next move will be:

Noun, verb, call 911.

“But his emails!”

Even if Trump pardons Guliani and various other bad actors, it’s my opinion that we still need a thorough investigation, if for no other reason, than for a full accounting of what’s occurred. And who knows? There’s a fairly good chance Trump’s team botches the pardons.

If Mother had any sense and love for her country, she will tell Q-tip, to call a Cabinet meeting and invoke the 25th on the clearly out of his mind(if he ever was) Trump.

Rudy’s life has been a pile of goo since the 1980s when he was purchased by the NY Mob.

I wonder if they are pushing on Rudy to get him to stop supporting Trump. Rudy, Powell and Flynn are about all Trump has left. Rudy is stuck, though, because if he throws Trump under the bus, he won’t get the pardons he clearly needs.

This may be less of a shot past Rudy’s bow as much as a whiff of the grape . . .

I wonder if part of the reason Barr is quitting, tomorrow I believe, is that he doesn’t want to be there when the pardons are issued

I’m not sure if the sort of blanket pardons Trump envisions are going to do a whole lot. I think it’s going to be sort of a legal Maginot Line.

Let’s see how Trump tries to pardon himself. As was pointed out by TPM a while ago, all these people pardoned by Trump will have a hell of a time pleading the fifth if they have pardons. But they will still be liable for commiting perjury after the date of the pardon.
So, no fifth amendment protection. But also no escape from lying. In a sense, Trump might just be the one creating the immunity deals for the people who will testify against him.

Of course, Rudy will be pleading for a fifth.

Or so Trump has specific charges to pardon, since plenary pardons might not be constitutional?
