It’s been pretty clear for a while that Musk supports the interests of Putin, Xi, and MBS at the expense of the US and its allies. It is in no way surprising that he acts on those interests given his propensity for believing that he knows more than anyone else and that his interests should trump all others.

Every organization I’ve worked for was staffed at all levels by people that personified the Peter Principle. Everyone wants more money, so they clamor for a promotion. Management responds by placating them, apparently afraid if they stall them wherever they are they’ll become disgruntled and leave, or be an angry, frustrated distraction if they’re kept where they are. So they’re elevated to some position well beyond their grasp or abilities. Then all their new subordinates scurry around trying to perform with an unqualified idiot lording over them.
Trump’s entire administration was riddled with unqualified idiots. And so will be his next administration.
