Former Trump White House trade adviser Peter Navarro on Wednesday accused the Justice Department of demonstrating a “selective animus” towards him as he asked a federal judge to dismiss the criminal contempt of Congress case against him.
Ron Vara thinks using big words like ‘selective’ and ‘animus’ (in the same sentence!) will convince the MAGAts of the righteousness of his case, because if he can’t convince a judge, at least he can still wail and gnash away in hopes of rallying the base to his defense.
They really think they are entitled bons of sitches. Some lawyer should inform this “bidness man” that you can not hide behind “executive privilege” if you are breaking the law.
The Supreme Court stated: “To read the Article II powers of the president as providing an absolute privilege as against a subpoena essential to enforcement of criminal statutes…would upset the constitutional balance of ‘a workable government’ and gravely impair the role of the courts under Article III.”
The shear arrogance of this POS. I hope the judge laughs him out of the Coutroom.
So his defense is “The government is being mean to me”? Good luck with that…and the DFP is no longer in a position to claim executive privilege, as he is no longer the Chief Executive. You are…the weakest link. Good-bye.
“Peter Navarro on Wednesday accused the Justice Department of demonstrating a “selective animus” towards him.”
It is called “an investigation”, Peter. The real demonstration of animus shows up in the form of “an arrest and prosecution.” My hope is that he’ll learn the distinction through first hand experience.
They arrested the self-important ass boarding a plane. They didn’t know if he was fleeing the jurisdiction. I don’t blame the FBI for not giving himself a chance to turn himself in.
