President Trump announced in a Sunday morning tweet that he has ordered the National Guard to begin withdrawing from Washington, D.C. as nationwide protests continue in the wake of George Floyd’s death.
Remind me how much Trump likes rolling over for a strong black woman again?
He won’t find a way to decompensate, will he?
Maybe Michael Tracey can give him advice about retaining some dignity
What Trump does not realize is that peacefully protesting our government is not only our right as American citizens, it is our responsibility. Given that Trump is a 1-trick pony, I expect him to pull this same stunt any time he wants a show of force in the future. At some point, senior military leadership is just going to have to say, with all due respect, sir, I will not follow unlawful orders.
Talk about the world laughing. Trump himself is the laughingstock. The big bold tough guy has folded at the least resistance to everyone from preachers to presidents.
One positive thing will probably come out of this. The unused, defective bunker left by Obama will probably get a thorough upgrading, complete with gold-plated bathroom fixtures.
From wanting 10k military troops on America’s streets to sending home the National Guard. He received a much needed smack on the nose.
I think even his supporters will note he hid in a bunker, put up miles and miles of fencing, and caved to the black, female mayor of DC. So much for the “strongman” image he tries to cultivate.
The GOP now has a secret and private army of Bureau of Prison guards and other Federal forces that can behave irresponsibly and without accountability.
This secret and private GOP army could have some kind of ID (name of agency, numbers instead of names, etc.) but this would prevent them from having secret identities.
Big Green Men, these are the forces of GOP evil.
Big Green Men have seized control, if it could be called that.
@MayorBowser is grossly incompetent, and in no way qualified to be running an important city like Washington, D.C.
To which
Bowser retorted, “You know the thing about the pot and the kettle?”
What I have been wondering this past week is - where are all the perp walk images showing the malicious and deranged protesters that required the desperate use of all those military deployments?
Trump has lost the narrative on this, doesn’t have control and thus is bored and disinterested now that the non-stop violence has begun to subside on his TV screen. He’ll turn to another issue entirely within the week to generate his outrage.
