The National Archives will give the Jan. 6 Committee its first few documents from the Trump White House this evening, absent a court order.
Probably nothing earthshattering in those documents, but their release creates an Advent calendar effect regarding the documents to come.
âCome thou, long-expected archives,â and all that.
Lovely.
Whatâs the over-under on whether the SCOTUS steps in?
The so-called âtextualistsâ of the reactionary SCOTUS 5 should agree on such fine points but no one would be shocked if they contradicted themselves here as they have elsewhere.
The essential feature of conservatism remains unaltered and will be consistently enforced by this SCOTUS: There must be in-groups whom the law protects but does not bind as there must be out-groups whom the law binds but does not protect.
Can SCOTUS just sit on this forever? The Archive should just release the records and then deal with any backlash from the court. Trump is not a government official anymore. Why should he have any say on what the Archive releases?
I do so hope the tranche of documents is released over a period of time. Donât want the details lost in a massive data dump. Slow but thorough has its upside. (Downside for some, especially those named Trump).
I have a feeling whatever is in there is very explosive and wonât be lost on a Friday afternoon.
Well, that article title was an over-sell.
Shouldnât we be hearing from the god-damned SCOTUS soon?
And why is SCOTUS sitting on this appeal? Oh, thatâs right, conservative majority accommodating the GQP minority congress.
If there is ever a moment to see if Trump is baggage to be left behind, this would be it.
The law governing the release of legally archived Presidential records gives former Presidents a chance to weigh in before theyâre released.
Betelgeuse, Betelgeuse, Betelgeuse fer chrissakes!
Or maybe itâs âanti-explosiveâ and more revelatory⌠as in the information that should have been archived⌠never was archived at all?
This is just fucking stupid at this point.
Headline:
Diaper Donnie Dumps DooDoo in Depends.
Are the CIA documents associated with the toppling of Chilean President Allende somewhere in the National Archives? Just want to know where they are.
Anyway, arenât we paying for this shit? Seems to me weâve created this Byzantine framework of documents and records keeping and sequestering at great expense to limit access. What good is a library where not only canât you check out books, you canât even get in the building? If itâs so important that the public canât see it, you can be almost certain lies and subterfuge are involved.
