Regarding the fifth boat blown up - the original articles I saw had comments from the administration referring to it as an “alleged” drug boat. They now all say confirmed (by whatever secret method)
By the way, Colombian president Petro says boat #4 was theirs.
“Indications show that the last boat bombed was Colombian with Colombian citizens inside it. I hope their families come forward and report it,” Petro posted on X on Wednesday. “There is no war against smuggling; there is a war for oil and it must be stopped by the world.”
A White House official flatly denied the allegation.

ICE stated that he had an extensive juvenile record - which cannot be verified by others since they are, well sealed juvenile records. They also claim he had a knife and gun in his possession.
However he is a juvenile. So add some more laws being ignored and trampled. Even if he was caught in the commission of a crime, normal Constitutional protections should be applied. Should.

Not a long read, and I’ll highlight the part that is making me ponder at the moment.

When you read that final sentence you should consider the wording. Instead of saying higher authority, he said “authority higher.” I don’t know if it’s by design, or an unconscious verbal tick, but customarily an authority higher than the local potentate has been reserved for the divine. It’s one of the reasons the Christian Nationalists and their theocratic fellow travelers have me simultaneously worried and revolted. Having placed Trump on the pinnacle, there is no higher authority.
You’ll read about how the Emperor was both head of state and divine in Imperial Japan, and how that position was used by the militarists to justify the continued slaughter of their own people and everyone else. Deus Volt is dangerous when Deus becomes a man, particularly one driven by petty jealousy and whim.

President of Colombia, the damn boat was in the Americas. And if you people haven’t learned this yet, you’re gonna learn it now. Everything in “the Americas” really belongs–first, last and only–to America. By which I mean it belongs to Donald John Trump. So he can kill anyone he wants – on 5th Avenue or elsewhere – and not lose an ounce of power or a minute of freedom or any of the glory God’ll give him hereafter. Capiche?
