“That’s it, and that’s why we held up the money,” Mulvaney said, citing other factors in addition to the DNC server conspiracy.

“It was all a CONSPIRACY by the DNC and Crowdstrike to FRAME THE RUSSIANS AND THE TRUMP CAMPAIGN AND WIKKILEAKS AND CAMBRIDGE ANALYTICA AND PAUL MANAFORT (and everyone else under indictment) and when Seth Rich found out about it Hillary had him MURDERED by her Ninja-Assassins and then the DC Police Covered it UP FOR HER because she threatened them TOO!!!”

They will point to stories on Russia Today and Breitbart and InfoWars and FOX News as their supporting evidence.

Once again proving the old saying: “If you can’t dazzle them with Brilliance, Baffle them with Bullshit!”

Kudos to Jon Karl for his phrasing of the question. He’s getting them on the record agreeing there was a quid pro quo that required the Ukrainians to investigate Democrats (over a specious and ridiculous theory, natch.)

The fact Mulvaney wants to try to normalize this is just more of the same gaslighting from the White House.

Yes, he is. He’s only speaking now because he has no other choice, and is not willing to go to jail for Donald Trump.

But if he’s saying it was basically a clear cut quid pro quo, it’s going to be almost impossible for Trump to survive. As one domino falls, the next follows. I expect Rick Perry to see the light next. He really can’t be so dumb as to stay quiet, can he?
